Tie Drive to Benefit Women's Empowerment

Local dads can make a difference in the lives of homeless women by donating neckties to Women’s Empowerment. The tie drive will kick off at this Thursday’s graduation celebrating 25 formerly homeless women completing our comprehensive eight-week job-readiness program. The women will share their stories and future plans. For more information about graduation times and location, click here.

More than 200 guests are asked to bring ties for Haley Corina Handbags, created by local college student Haley Anthonisen who sews colorful silk purses out of neckties and donates a portion of the proceeds to Women’s Empowerment. Join us for graduation and bring an old neck tie as a donation! For more information about Haley Corina Handbags, click here.

The tie drive will last until June 25. Ties will be collected at graduation and also at WE from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. For driving directions to our office, click here.

The purses will be available for purchase at Women’s Empowerment’s annual gala on September 30. To buy your gala ticket, click here and select “Gala 2010 Ticket” under “Program Designation.”
