Thanks to the generousity and hard work of volunteers and staff, students and graduates of Women's Empowerment were able to provide warm, nourishing Thanksgiving meals for their loved ones. This year many women celebrated Thanksgiving for the first time in a stable home with a loving family. Together we gave away close to 80 turkeys and 100 bags of Thanksgiving fixins!
Look for the paratransit van driven by Women's Empowerment graduates on the road, and listen for buzz about the Wheels to Work program on the news! Featured this week on the Sacramento Bee and Capital Radio, this exciting program is proof of how homeless women in our community can turn their experience into postitive change.

Help us celebrate our tenth birthday at our Annual Women's Empowerment Gala: A Celebration of Independence, to be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011.
Thanks to a $25,000 grant from Sierra Health Foundation through its Responsive Grants Program. Women’s Empowerment will provide advanced training to formerly homeless women who have developed basic job skills.
This Saturday, April 9th, Kimberly Page Skincare and Salud to Wellness will host a prom and evening dress sale at 5530 Elvas Avenue in Sacramento from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Local residents can purchase prom and evening dresses for $20. All proceeds will benefit our homeless students here at Women's Empowerment and will assist the women in finding homes and jobs.
